Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

ChronoDeck collects no data about you. There are no user accounts, no cloud services, no analytics, and no tracking. Everything stays on your devices and your local network.

What we don't collect

  • Personal information (name, email, phone, address)
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • The contents of keyboard shortcuts you configure
  • Any behavioral or diagnostic data

What lives on your devices

  • Pairing tokens — a local-only credential used to authenticate between your iPhone and Mac. Stored in a local file on the Mac, in the Keychain on iPhone.
  • App preferences (haptic and sound feedback, Watch gesture settings) — stored in UserDefaults on each device.
  • Keyboard shortcut mappings — configured and stored only on your Mac. Never sent to iPhone or Apple Watch.

How devices communicate

ChronoDeck iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac communicate peer-to-peer over your local network. The iPhone discovers the Mac via Bonjour. All messages stay on your LAN — they never touch an external server, because ChronoDeck doesn't run one.

Third-party services

None. ChronoDeck includes no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries, advertising networks, or cloud services.

Software updates

The macOS app checks for new versions against a public release feed hosted on GitHub (github.com/BearMett/chronodeck-releases) via Apple's Sparkle framework. This request includes the current version number but no user information. You can disable automatic checks in the Mac app's settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and note the change in the app's release notes.
